I am working in a Japanese company and I've noticed that no-one decorates their desks with pictures of their family. In my country it is taken for granted for people to decorate their desk with such pictures so I was a little bit surprised. Why don't Japanese people decorate their desks with family photo's etc?
Just like Leon said, having a picture of your loved ones will help you out when you have a bad day at work.
I want to have pictures of my dogs! lol
many people in Taiwan like to decorate their own desks as well ( : but i could somehow understand why Japanese people want to keep their private thing separated.
I would like to decorate my work desk by picture of my family or people important for me, as well as to glue some pct of characters I admire. It will be helpful for me to stand against stress so it increase my work efficiency. Better for me – better for company!
It's true, in Japan people rarely decorate their desks with family pictures. Essentially, Japanese people like to keep their public and private lives separated so decorating one's workdesk with something so private isn't a common thought. However, there exists a minority of people who have pictures of their children as they claim that by looking at it they become more motivated to work hard!
